Wednesdays/Additional hour of teaching & learning!!

REMINDER- Beginning Wed. 3/29/17 schools in Auburn will add one hour of instructional time to every Wednesday afternoon between March 29th and June 7th. This will put two instructional days back into the school calendar. Without any more snow days the last student day would be on Tuesday, June 20th and the last teacher day would be on Thursday, June 22nd.
The top reasons why Wednesdays were chosen are as follows:
*Zero impact on the Pre-K afternoon program.
*Zero impact on the CLC afterschool program.
*Students would not have an extended school day on multiple days in a week.
Lunch will still be served on Wednesdays. Our lunch schedule will just be pushed ahead by 1 hour so that instructional time is not compromised.
What will students & teachers be doing during the additional hour each Wednesday?    During the additional hour we will be focusing on math and literacy instruction to support student achievement.
Dismissal- Walkers will be dismissed at 12:30 and bus students will begin boarding buses at approximately 12:45 or as soon as they arrive. Buses will drop off students one hour later than in the past.

If you have questions please feel free to call Mrs. Gaylord.
